Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science in which the principles of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially meaningful behavior. These behaviors include increasing socially significant behaviors and decreasing undesirable behaviors. Each skill that is taught is broken down into stepping stones that build on each other to lead to success. ABA can be used with anyone that wants to increase or decrease behaviors and it is the only evidence-based treatment for individuals on the autism spectrum.

ABA Sessions are individualized and are implemented in the location that best suits each family’s needs, some examples include in the home, community, daycare, or private school.

ABA Behavior Services serves children as young as 12 months old all the way into young adulthood. Research indicates that children younger than 5 years old who receive early and intensive behavior therapy make the most gains, because ABA can change the pattern of the brain. However, consistent ABA therapy is effective for individuals over the age of 5.

We teach a variety of skills including: pre-academic, academic, communication, receptive, expressive, leisure/play, social, imitation, self-care, pre-vocational, vocational, feeding, toileting, sleeping, self-management, desensitization, tolerance training, and decreasing interfering behaviors.

ABA Behavior Services works in collaboration with families to meet individual client goals. Each client is assigned to a Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) that will complete an initial assessment to develop goals in collaboration with caregivers. These goals are continuously updated based on progress and needs. A behavior therapist works with your child during each session, at least two times a week. The BCBA provides training and support to the behavior therapist and will supervise approximately 20% of sessions. Your child’s progress is tracked through data that is collected at each session. These data are analyzed and guide decision making and programming decisions to ensure your child is making progress. This objective format is what sets ABA apart from most other scientific disciplines. It helps us know for certain that what we are doing is impacting change and/or allows us to modify protocols to see gains. The BCBA also collaborates with other service providers (e.g., Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists), can provide IEP assistance if applicable to maintain team cohesion, and provides parent/caregiver training in behavior techniques.

Most insurance carriers cover ABA for treatment of autism, however, most families will have a responsibility for the cost of services through their deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance. At ABA Behavior Services we help you understand your insurance benefits and what the cost will be for your family before we begin services. If you are interested in services or have any questions regarding your benefits or insurance, please contact us and someone will reach out to you within one business day.

We accept most major health plans with out-of-network benefits. We send claims directly to insurance companies, patients are not required to submit anything to their insurance company. We often request single-case agreements to utilize patients in network benefits for our services. Insurance plans can vary in benefits and coverage for ABA services. We abide by the guidance from the CDC, Department of Health, and other appropriate agencies and executive orders.

We provide telehealth and in person services.
